Our Mission
The Helping Place Mission Statement
The purpose of The Helping Place is to provide mental health counseling and case management services for individuals and families in our community. We offer educational programs focusing on issues such as anger management, parenting and divorce, among other areas of interest. We provide Advocacy for crime victims and those navigating the legal system or other human services agencies. Special Projects of advocacy will be considered upon request.
Whenever available, client insurance will be utilized. We participate with as many local EAP/PPO programs as possible. Medicaid, BC/BS, Horizon and many other insurances are accepted. We offer a generous sliding scale for those without insurance, with proof of income. We will pursue grants and charitable contributions when appropriate and available.
Our program benefits those who might not otherwise have access to professional mental health services locally. Our clients are those in need of individual, marital, or family therapy, as well as those having issues related to divorce and child custody. We provide a variety of support groups as a community service at no charge. Also, we maintain a large selection of brochures and materials from the Attorney General?s Office, the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, the American Cancer Society, and the Women?s Advocacy Project, to name a few. We have established a lending library covering topics of interest to anyone wishing to learn more about problems they may be experiencing.
